Selenite
Selenite is characterized by its special purity, because the mineral is clear and transparent. The magical selenite was often used to protect religious relics or images of the Virgin Mary, which also earned it the names women's glass, Marienglas and mirror glass. It is popularly associated with a clear mind and inspiration. In addition, it is assigned to the root chakra in Indian teachings.
Selenite: Traditional Use and Importance
Due to its clear transparency, the ancient Romans used selenite as a pane for lamps and windows. The Roman Emperor Tiberius is even said to have had a greenhouse made from this beautiful mineral. Since such large selenite crystals are rare to find, such goods were real luxury items in antiquity. Traditionally, the mineral is used to clear the mind and spirit. It creates space for inspiration and creativity. If these are awakened, they give an appealing radiance and the magical shine in the eyes. The mineral selenite is assigned to the root chakra in Indian chakra teachings. Due to its powerful spiritual energies, however, it is also used for energetic work with the sacral chakra. The energies of selenite are said to provide clarity and thus be able to create space for sensual pleasure.

Selenite: color and transparency
Selenite is completely colorless and has a vitreous luster. It is characterized by its high transparency and purity. The extraordinary mineral bears its name based on the moon goddess Selene, because when exposed to light it shines like moonlight with a pale bluish sheen.
Selenite: Cleanse, discharge and charge
Selenite should only have very brief contact with water because it is one of the water-sensitive gypsum crystals. Since selenite is sensitive, the mineral should always be stored individually and in soft packaging to avoid scratch marks. The beautiful mineral from our range is charged by a night in the full moonlight and by the power of the rock crystal.
