Labradorite
The labradorite is a coveted gemstone because of its iridescent colour, which is reminiscent of the extravagant beauty of a peacock feather. The mysterious beauty is named after its first documented location on Canada's Labrador Peninsula. In energy theory, it is used especially for aura care because it addresses all the chakras and can be ordered from our online shop.
Labradorite: Traditional Uses and Significance
Due to its versatile play of colors, labradorite is attributed to all chakras in traditional Indian energy theory. It is used to harmonize and balance them. Its greenish shimmer has a particularly special effect on the heart chakra. In general, the labradorite is said to have a balancing effect in popular belief. According to traditional lore, the gemstone is said to awaken the imagination and support creativity. At the same time, it should also allow a glimpse into one's own inner life and thus enliven the emotional world. According to these ideas, it should calm nervousness and anxiety and brighten the mind by looking at it.

Labradorite: color and transparency
The labradorite inspires when buying, especially because of the so-called labradorescence. This refers to the iridescent play of colors in shades of blue through violet to green, which is complemented by a metallic sheen. Color nuances such as black and brown or yellow and red can also be found in some of the specimens in our range. Depending on the country of origin, the labradorite can show its entire color spectrum and then has a special name, like the spectrolite from Finland. On Madagascar there is a labradorite that appears almost transparent whitish and is called rainbow moonstone.
Labradorite: cleaning, discharging and charging
The labradorite is one of the sensitive gemstones. It is quite soft and can lose its shine over time due to rubbing against other objects - so it should be stored separately and softly bedded after purchase in the online shop. Labradorite does not tolerate heat or acids, including human sweat. Soapy water, ultrasonic baths or galvanic baths can also damage it. If it has been used in crystal healing, it can be cleaned briefly under clear, running water, which should only be lukewarm. The discharge can be done in a night in a bowl full of hematite tumbled stones. The labradorite is charged by the rock crystal.
