Tiger Eye
The resemblance to the eye of the legendary big cat gave the tiger's eye its name. The attractive gemstone is a golden-brown, striped variety of the mineral quartz, which is highly sought after as a gemstone, especially in cabochon cuts and for making handicrafts. With a length of two meters and a weight of 150 kg, the largest tiger eye ever found can impress. The beautiful gemstone is mined particularly frequently in South Africa and Australia, where a particularly colorful variant of the tiger eye (Marra Mamba) can also be found.
Tiger Eye: Traditional Use and Importance
The interesting cat's eye effect and the appealing coloring of the tiger's eye were already popular with the ancient Egyptians, who carved them into religious figures. Its use as a talisman carved into a figure is still widespread today. For a long time, legends were anchored in popular belief that it was possible to see everything if you had a tiger's eye. To this day, the gemstone is used in crystal healing to clarify the view and to expose false assumptions. These traditional skills of the stone are used by its owner, especially when making decisions. Its grounding power makes it a popular protective stone that can give inner peace and courage.

Tiger Eye: Color and Transparency
The tiger's eye has a silky sheen and appears opaque. Its banded coloring can have various nuances between gold and brown. The coveted cat's eye effect created by shimmering light in the stone is known as chatoyance. This unique chatoyance as well as the unusual color of the tiger's eye make it comparatively counterfeit-proof. The Red Tiger Eye (also known as Dragon Eye) offered for sale has been treated and is not a natural phenomenon. Due to its ingredients, the tiger's eye is generally not suitable for the direct production of gemstone water and permanent skin contact for weeks.
Tiger Eye: Cleanse, discharge and charge
After each use, the tiger eye should be cleaned and discharged. This is done under running, warm water. Powerful rays of sunshine are suitable for charging.
