Dumortierite
Dumortierite was first discovered in the French department of Rhône in the late 19th century and has since been coveted to adorn jewelery and handicrafts. It can be found in various European countries, but also in Russia, Australia and India. Aluminum-rich igneous rocks, in which various admixtures for the color can be found, are the basis for the formation of dumortierite. The blue gem in its pure form is rarely found, mostly quartz with dumortierite inclusions. As a first-aid stone, the gemstone is used for suddenly occurring, demanding situations in crystal healing. Here he should help as a strengthening companion.
Dumortierite: Traditional Use and Significance
Dumortierite is known in African folk beliefs as petrified water, not only because of its color but also because it can often be found near water. In meditation, dumortierite is a coveted companion, because it is said to support concentration - especially when thought circles are to be broken. In this way he helps to clear the mind and can bring it to rest. These properties also benefit it in another area of application, because the gemstone is a popular lucky charm to counteract the fear of speaking in front of an audience. It gives self-confidence, helps to increase security and lets the humorous lightness take hold.- meditation

Dumortierite: color and transparency
Dumortierite is known for its blue or blue-grey colour, but it can also be pink or violet. Dumortierite can be confused with other blue stones such as lapis lazuli and sodalite. The gem's transparency is more milky to opaque. For this reason, the stone is less common in jewelry than other gemstones, despite its appealing coloring.Dumortierite: cleaning, discharging and charging
Once a week, the dumortierite is rinsed under running water at a lukewarm temperature and discharged. The charging takes place via rock crystal or, if it is a dumortierite chain, by storing it overnight with hematite tumbled stones.
