Carnelian: color and transparency
The formation of carnelian can take place in the cavities of various rocks, from which the gemstone can be washed out and then found, among other things, as river deposits. From Brazil to India and Germany to Australia and Poland, the stone can be found in different parts of the world. Carnelian is particularly common in the colors orange and brown, but in rare cases pink specimens are also known. The milky to almost opaque gemstone from our range is mostly monochromatic, but can also have patterns such as bands. The stone has its interesting color due to iron admixtures. In order to obtain a particularly intense, dark colour, the carnelian is heat-treated. This method has been used since ancient times.
Carnelian: Cleansing, discharging and charging
Once a month, the carnelian should be cleaned and discharged after purchase. This is done under running water at a lukewarm temperature. The gem receives new energy from the sun's rays and a group of rock crystals.
