Turquoise meaning:
The blue-green mineral turquoise with its unique color strength gave the color of the same name its name. The Roman scholar Pliny mentioned turquoise in his notes and the crusaders brought the beautiful stone from the Orient to Europe, as it was mined in Persia more than 2000 years ago. Rulers from ancient Egypt to China to the Mesoamerican Aztecs loved turquoise for its beautiful color. The Indian peoples in particular chose the blue-green mineral as an important protective stone that was supposed to ward off negative energies and bring good luck. Traditionally, it is still used today as a talisman when protection and guidance are required and life force is to be activated.
